Structural Conditions and Fire Code
Complaints dealing with the structural conditions of the rental property or the number of unrelated occupants in apartment units are investigated by Centre Region Code Administration Office. To initiate a complaint of this type contact the Code office at (814) 231-3056.
Complaints dealing with insect or rodent infestation, refuse, or weeds are investigated by the State College Health Department. To initiate a complaint of this type contact the at (814) 234-7191.
Complaints dealing with the number of unrelated occupants in 1- and 2-family homes or the use of rental property are investigated by the State College Zoning Officer. To initiate a complaint of this type contact the Zoning Officer at (814) 234-7109.

All rental housing in the Borough is required to have a rental permit and is regulated by the International Property Maintenance Code and Fire Prevention Code.
Rental Housing Inspections
The Centre Region Code Administration inspects all rental housing to ensure compliance with the local codes and regulations. All rental properties are inspected at least once every 36-months.
