SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED

The State College Borough Manager has declared a snow emergency.  All vehicles must be removed from Borough streets until the snowfall has stopped and the streets have been plowed to the curb.

The downtown parking garages and parking lots remain OPEN and all residents and patrons of the Borough are encouraged to use the Fraser Street garage, Pugh Street garage, Beaver Avenue garage, McAllister Deck or public parking lots.

Cars parked in posted snow removal zones or cars parked in violation of any ordinance of the Borough may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Residential trash, organics and recycling will now be collected on a one-day delay, consistent with the holiday delay schedule. Materials normally picked up on Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday scheduled collections will also be on a one-day delay.

Residents and property owners are also reminded that sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after the snow has stopped.
