Borough of State College Announces the Launch of 2017 Annual Report

State College, Pa - The Borough of State College is excited to announce the launch of its 2017 Annual Report, a comprehensive guide that will inform the community on all the Borough's accomplishments, as well as changes within the community.
The Borough of State College’s mission is to enhance the quality of life by fostering a safe, vibrant, diverse and sustainable community; by providing quality, innovative, cost-effective services; and by allocating resources efficiently with professionalism, integrity, transparency and accountability. The 2017 Annual Report reflects on the Borough's 2017 accomplishments and how each of those met the safety, vibrancy, diversity and sustainability goals mentioned in the Borough’s Mission Statement, while also being eye-catching and interesting to read.
In the 2017 Annual Report, readers will discover how parking improvements and repairs, the implementation of the Complete Streets Policy, and the State College Police Department's pedestrian safety campaign are among the many things that have helped us improve public safety. There are several enthralling stories on major events, such as LION Bash, that helped build a more vibrant community. You will also see that diversity was at the forefront with the new policies implemented, the expansion of partnerships, and the work that was done by our community development and housing programs. With notable projects, a preview of our sustainability report, a look at the GreenBuild project and more, you'll explore how the Borough is building a more sustainable future. You can also learn about how our citizen volunteers have made an impact by serving on the various Authorities, Boards, Committees and Commissions (ABCs) by exploring the award recipients at the 2017 ABC Dinner.

To help connect the community to these stories, the Borough will be hosting a reading event for the 2017 Annual Report at the Schlow Centre Region Library (211 South Allen Street) from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, August 8, which will be open to the public.

There will be printed copies available for reading at the Schlow Centre Region Library, Administrative Office at the State College Municipal Building (243 South Allen Street), and the New Leaf Initiative. The 2017 Annual Report is available for download at
