Facebook page, Home in State College,
dedicated to living well in Borough neighborhoods
State College, Pa – Welcome to the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts! If you’re visiting this week, how does it feel to be “home again?” Have you dreamed of moving to State College and renting or buying a home in the Borough?
A Facebook page called Home in State College is dedicated to sharing listings of homes for sale or rent in the Borough. The site is tailored to professionals and others in the local workforce who may be interested in living in a Borough neighborhood.
Supported by the Borough of State College, Home in State College makes the case for quality of life in strong, vibrant Borough neighborhoods that are close to the Penn State campus, downtown State College, schools, and community centers such as farmers markets, as well as shopping and other amenities in the greater State College area. Home in State College emphasizes all the positive aspects of living in each of these neighborhoods.
“As a Centre County native, a Penn State graduate and Borough homeowner, I know that State College is a wonderful place to grow up, to go to school and to settle down,” says Borough Mayor Don Hahn. “As Mayor I know that the Borough is committed to keeping it that way.
“One of the greatest benefits of the State College Borough is its location,” he adds. “Approximately 4.56 square miles large, with a world-class university and a vibrant downtown in the middle of it, the Borough is a pedestrian’s paradise. It has the highest percentage of people who walk and bike to work among Pennsylvania cities.”
Living in the Borough makes it easy to get to places where residents want to shop, dine, and enjoy music, arts and entertainment. “In neighborhoods that are ideal for walking, biking and congregating with neighbors,” says former Borough Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, “you’ll have opportunities to volunteer and be as involved as you choose to be. There’s a community spirit in the Borough that will embrace you.”
For everyone who believes there's no place like State College, Home in State College on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is a gathering place for those who want to #LiveWell, and be #CloseToEverything.
