Community Questions Requested by Council for Interim Mayor Applicants

State College, Pa – The State College Borough Council wants questions by the community for the applicants being considered for Interim Mayor. These questions will be reviewed by Council at their Monday, December 2, Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers (243 S. Allen St.).

At the September 9, 2019 meeting of Council, Mayor Hahn announced his intention to resign as Mayor effective as of 5:00 p.m. on December 16, 2019. The effective date of the resignation will be determined by the date when Council accepts the resignation and Mayor Hahn leaves office. Council has 45 days from the occurrence of the vacancy to appoint a qualified person.

During the Monday, November 18, Council came to a consensus on the interviewing process for all the applicants that were eligible to become Mayor. Part of this process was to provide an opportunity for community members to submit possible questions. Council will review all these questions on Monday, December 2, and then forward those selected to the applicants. The applicants will receive both questions from Council and the public prior to their public presentation to Council. The applicants public presentations will be scheduled during the first week of December. The Borough will publish that date when the meeting is scheduled.
