Does State College offer rental housing assistance to elderly and disabled persons?

State College offers housing assistance at two apartment complexes located in State College: Arnold Addison Court Apartments and Bellaire Court Apartments.

Arnold Addison Court Apartments is a 89-unit apartment building, located at 126 East Beaver Avenue, in Downtown State College, that serves both elderly and disabled persons. Applicants must be at least 55 years of age or handicapped. There are income limits for eligibility. For more information call (814) 238-0400 or email.

Bellaire Court Apartments is rental community containing 18 one-bedroom apartments. One of the apartments has been made accessible to individuals who use a wheelchair and is not reserved for senior occupancy. Residents must be able to live independently.

Income eligible residents, former residents, and relatives of resident of Centre County and adjacent counties are eligible for an apartment at Bellaire Court. Residents of State College Borough and parents of Borough residents receive priority on the waiting list for apartments. Tenants pay only 30 percent of their monthly income as rent. There currently is a waiting list for apartments, but an application may be filed at any time.
